Report of National Cadet Corps (NCC)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a premier youth organization in India, its motto is “Unity and Discipline”. NCC helps in nurturing various qualities among youth, NCC always promotes to develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership quality, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service among young citizens. It plays a crucial role in shaping the future leaders of our nation. And encourages cadets to be responsible and disciplined, which contribute positively to the society.
In the academic year 2023-24, Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening) established Girls NCC Senior Wing associated with 3 Delhi Girls Battalion. Prof (Dr) Masroor Ahmad Beg, (Principal, ZHDCE) did lots of efforts to raise the NCC in our college. This is remarkable and significant step towards gender inclusivity and empowerment. The initiative garnered commendable results as 28 girls were selected to serve as cadets in the prestigious 3 Delhi Girls Battalion, reflecting the dedication and commitment of the college towards promoting NCC among female students.
Dr Aaliya (Deptt of Urdu) serving as Care Taker of NCC in Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening). This NCC unit has been actively involved in fostering the spirit of NCC among its students. The college recognizes the significance of NCC in shaping the holistic development among students.
The NCC unit at Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening) conducts drill twice a week, ensuring regular practice and proficiency among its cadets. These drills not only enhance physical fitness but also create discipline and team spirit among the participants.
Achievements:
Our cadets are doing outstanding performances in NCC. They have participated in NCC fest organised by different colleges of Delhi university. One of the best cadet Lcpl. Rachna Kanwar got ”NCC ADG commendation card” award for her outstanding acts and performances in NCC. Sgt. Janvi Rathore selected for “ National War Memorial Camp and “Army Attachment Camp” which was held first time for Senior Wing. Cdt. Umme Kulsum got first runner up “Best Cadet” award in Indira gandhi institute of physical education and sports science. Cdt. Nisha Mishra participated in PM rally on 27 January,2024.
